World Book Day
As per the letter which went out before half term, World Book Day is on Thursday 5th March. We are giving children the option for dressing up as either a word or a book character. Be as imaginative as possible with your ideas! We will hold a parade for the children on the morning of World Book Day. Throughout the day, there will be various activities planned, within and across classes, all linked to developing a love of reading. As the book swap was so successful last year, we would like to do this again. We are encouraging children to bring in one book (in good condition) which they no longer read, and they will then be given the opportunity to swap it for a ‘new’ book brought in by another child. This is voluntary so if your child does not have a book they want to exchange, they don’t have to bring one in. We hope to make this as enjoyable as possible for the children and hope that as many children as possible will join in with showcasing this years’ theme of ‘Go all in’. Get your thinking caps on (or use Google for ideas!) Mrs Oliver
