WELCOME
Hawksworth Church of England (VA) Primary School
Established 1874
On behalf of the pupils, staff and governors, I would like to welcome you and your family to Hawksworth Church of England (VA) Primary School - which has been educating children for one hundred and forty-nine years.
We have high aspirations for every child and an expectation that they will excel and achieve their potential. We provide an inspirational and creative curriculum, rich in opportunity and full of challenge. We understand that every child is precious – an individual blessed with their own unique set of gifts and talents and we work hard to encourage and support each child as they discover where their strengths lie.
We pride ourselves on our happy, friendly and caring atmosphere, as well as our strong Christian ethos, which underpins all that we do. We have good links with our local churches St Oswald's in Guiseley and St Paul's in Esholt. We endeavour to help all our children develop their understanding of the Christian faith and this is reflected in both the curriculum we teach and the moral values we impart to our children.
Please take the time to explore our website, but the best way to appreciate what our school has to offer is to come and visit us, so please ring us to make an appointment and experience the Hawksworth family atmosphere.
Mr D Norris B.A (Hons) QTS

Our 6 core Christian values: Love - Trust - Courage - Friendship - Respect - Forgiveness

ETHOS
My child has been extremely well supported at Hawksworth and he has always been encouraged by staff. He has benefitted from the ethos of the school (a family-like atmosphere) in which students from across year groups mix and support each other. Staff (including teaching admin and before/after school) are welcoming, supportive and friendly. The help of staff has been much appreciated and it has enabled my child to make really good progress. Thank you!
I was very pleased to learn that my son got Hawksworth for his first school, and now into his first term, I haven’t been disappointed. Everybody I have come across staff, parents and children have been extremely friendly and approachable. A lovely, village school to which I am proud to be sending my son to.
