Christmas Service at St Oswald’s Church
On Tuesday evening we had our Christmas Service at St Oswald’s Church. In recent years we have had held the
service at St Paul’s Esholt but due to their boiler failing we had to change the venue but in one way this enabled the
children more space to perform and those attending more seating whereas at Esholt many were forced to stand.
The service was well attended and began with the school choir and then children from Class 3 and 4 entertained
everyone with an excellent mélange of song, dance, readings and solo performances. The guitar group was
outstanding and William performed with confidence on his electric guitar. Our wonderful solo singing/guitar artist
Sam Metcalfe went ahead with his performance even though his music teacher was absent due to illness…Sam is
available for weddings and bar mitzvah, please contact the school office for booking info!
Thank you to Father David for allowing the school to stage the performance in St Oswald’s church and those church
volunteers who helped out on the night. Thank you to Mrs Oliver and Mr Hawcroft for organising and preparing the
children for their performance.
…and thank you to everyone who attended and supported this festive event - it was great to see so many parents,
grandparents, staff, governors and friends of the school in attendance.
